Carer’s Allowance (England and Wales)

Carer’s Allowance is a UK Government benefit that provides financial support to people who spend at least 35 hours a week caring for someone with substantial care needs. It is designed to help recognise the time and effort involved in unpaid caring, though it is not means-tested, your earnings and other benefits may affect eligibility. Care recipients must also receive certain qualifying disability benefits for the carer to claim. You could get £86.45 a week if you care for someone at least 35 hours a week and they get certain benefits. You do not have to be related to, or live with, the person you care for. You do not get paid extra if you care for more than one person. If someone else also cares for the same person as you, only one of you can claim Carer’s Allowance. More information is available on the UK Government Website using the link below.
